Our Care

We take great pride in providing person-centred residential, respite and end-of-life care for up to 40 residents over the age of 65.

Our wonderful team members provide kind, compassionate care tailored to each individual resident’s needs, likes and dislikes.

The manager’s door is always open in case you have any questions about our home or personalised care plans.

All members of staff are recruited carefully and receive training when they join the team to ensure we constantly offer expert care, then further develop skills by working towards gaining care NVQs. As a residential care home, we work closely with district nurses, Macmillan nurses and local doctors and dentists.

The Competition and Markets Authority guidance requires care home providers to prominently highlight all key information on their website. We would like to be as transparent as possible with our pricing, please see the information below.

As our home has been extended over the years, we offer a choice of room styles and sizes depending on availability, with fees ranging from £875 - £1,106 per week. Fees at Swarthmore cover all care, meals, activities, laundry, Wi-Fi to all rooms, utilities, visitor parking and maintenance. Please be aware that potential additional costs may be incurred dependent on the level of care required; in order to evaluate the level of care required, an assessment will be carried out prior to moving into Swarthmore Residential Care Home. Please speak to Swarthmore New Care Enquiries on to find out more.

Our residents’ wellbeing

We take wellbeing very seriously, ensuring that life here is both rewarding and enjoyable. Our home features various social spaces where everyone can enjoy time together with other residents and visitors.

Friends and family members are welcome to visit at any time of day, as we believe it’s very important for our residents to feel completely at home – our relaxed and welcoming atmosphere reflects this.

One of our aims at Swarthmore is to make lifelong wishes come true, which is why we have a wishing line in our home. Residents can peg their wishes to the wishing line and no matter how small or enormous these dreams are, we do our very best to make them happen. From fussing a cat for a few hours to flying in an aeroplane, our wishing line is a thoughtful opportunity to fulfil our residents' wishes.

We have our very own hair salon, with a hairdresser visiting our home every week. We also have the opportunity for regular therapies, such as:

  • Chiropody
  • Manicure
  • Physiotherapy

These services are all available within the home at an extra cost
