Recap of June Activities

1st July

Another month whizzed by, we had one lovely week of sunshine and made the most of it with outside entertainers, manicures on the patio, afternoon teas and so on. Read on………..

We have welcomed back a couple of entertainers this month. Andrew our pianist came to serenade our residents with many old-time favourites. This of course gave reason to dance, sing along and get the bodies moving to the rhythm – so such a positive and energetic afternoon had by everyone who attended. Jeannette and Ann Marie have had an abundance of activities this month – ranging from sand art, flower arranging, decorating hats for Brain Tumor Awareness Day, celebrating Italian day which involved eating some tasty delights.

One wonderful lady reached a major milestone - Congratulations from everyone.  A wonderful birthday celebrated with our residents and staff.

Jackie from Tesco donated a cream tea for everyone which was a super treat enjoyed by all. Emily one of our entertainers came to sing to the residents, she performed on the patio whilst the residents enjoyed from inside. She sang lots of old-time classics and themes from Disney and more. The residents created a poem which can be viewed on the pictures included in this post, this is now on display in the lounge.

Our ‘Swarthmore Singers’ are now practicing for their upcoming performances.

Manicures on the patio in the lovely sunshine – thanks to Sarra. All our ladies are now manicured and ready for Wimbledon to start. Looking forward to strawberries and cream.

Next month we have a wide variety of activities coming hopefully including trips out – fingers crossed.  Check out the activity schedule on our website
