October Activities

28th October

Ann Marie and Jeanette have been exploring different art projects this month. They have created a beautiful magnolia flower decorated with pieces of coloured glass which has been placed in a frame.  They have also explored gem lettering – these look fabulous, residents’ initials decorated in gems.

Residents enjoyed ‘Harvest Festival’ in the lounge with poetry and songs to celebrate. A virtual tour of Cliveden House & Garden – residents were able to experience the maze, topiary, clock tower and the house. The National Trust will also be giving a talk about the history of the home in the coming months. Our local library loaned artifacts from years gone by – this is wonderful exercise to help our memories kick into action.  They also watched a virtual tour of artwork and sculptures by Pablo Picasso to celebrate his birthday.

Mandy our hairdresser is making our residents feel pampered and looking amazing.  Thank you so much for all your hard work.

‘World Food Day’ was on 16 October – so of course it would be so rude not to offer our residents an indulgent afternoon tasting Swiss chocolate, German cakes and Polish biscuits ............

Autumn is upon us now, changing colours of leaves, embracing dark evenings for a few months.  Its a reason to make our homes cosy by turning up the heating, light the candles and pour a glass of wine!  Maybe you need a new hobby – whether its knitting, reading a book or watching a good old film.  Keep safe whatever you do.
