January Activities

31st January

Happy New Year.

A new year is upon us and let’s hope for better things to come.

We have seen some lovely artwork being produced by the ladies – designing dresses with button art. Very creative. Thanks to Jeanette, we look forward to seeing much more.

Ann Marie celebrated International Flower Day by flower arranging with the ladies followed by a quiz and songs about flowers. Lots of lovely flower arrangements around the home.

The residents celebrated Winnie the Pooh day, looking at AA Milnes poetry and discussing around Christopher Robins difficult career. We had a surprise visitor – Winnie the Pooh. It brought plenty of smiles to residents faces.

Swarthmore gardens are starting to come to life; bulbs are starting to appear in the garden, so we are looking forward to seeing some colour appear.

Burns Night – Kuli our Head Chef served up the Haggis along with bagpipes playing, full costume dress etc. A delightful traditional meal enjoyed by all residents. Residents then spent the afternoon travelling the West Coast of Scotland via a virtual tour. Lots of interesting facts and some wonderful scenery admired.

Residents ended the month by celebrating Chinese New Year with traditional food.

We hope you all remain safe and healthy and look forward to seeing you all soon.
