May Activities

1st June

Art club have been busy decorating the home for the Jubilee - model soldiers, bunting and so much more.  The soldiers are stood on the mantel piece keeping guard - they look fab!  Residents have been very busy with Ann Marie planting pots with plants for the patio area.

We are placing a new gazebo in the garden so residents and families can shelter from the sunshine during the Summer months.  We look forward to this being completed.

Lots of celebrations and outings this month - Gerrards Cross library - looking back on the Queen's reign.  Residents held conversations with staff in the library about local history of Gerrards Cross which was very interesting.  One of our oldest residents were able to tell a story about the local shops and type of trades they used many years ago.  One of our other residents struck up a conversation about her career, which turns out that they actually knew each other through  contacts.

Thank you to the local Rotary Club for inviting our residents to meet with others at Muddy Boots Cafe at Rowans Garden Centre for afternoon tea.  The weather was certainly interesting! Chatting to other people was certainly interesting  as we met two retired community nurses who used to visit residents at Swarthmore many years ago.  Another visit that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Everyone is looking forward to the Jubilee Celebrations over the coming days.  Lots to celebrate.

Hope you all have a wonderful bank holiday - Enjoy the celebrations.
